Monday Morning Notes
Good morning, chooms.
We had a nice quiet weekend around here. Spent some time on house stuff, mainly clearing out the umpteenhundred boxes from the move, finishing some sorting, and clearing out some old things we no longer needs.
Some not-chore-related happenings:
- I picked up the new 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide on Friday and spent a little time reading through it. I'm impressed. It's mature, it's thoughtful, and it covered far more than mere dice tables for weird happenings. It seems as though the game has finally grown up. I really like the social aspects covered in the text. I want to spend some more time reading it this week.
- Watched Transformers One last night. It was better crafted that I thought it would be. I had fun with it. Some nice one-liners for folks who remember the original animated movie.
- Meet Filbo, our new housemate. He's a bit shy.
- I spent a little time on Sunday streaming Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator. The cozy is not a lie. Nor is it merely simulated. The cozy is quite real.
- It has become my habit to drive to New Paris and grab a cup of coffee at The Cedar Coffee. The drive around sunrise is beautiful, and their coffee is outstanding. I think it must be owned by the same people who own The Cedar Lodge and Tiny Cabins, which look sort of fun.
- However, the largest block of time was spent on Saturday playing Baldur's Gate 3. It is, as others have noted, a very good game. I'm really enjoying it.
Have a good one, y'all.
